Company History
Buttzville Brewing Company (BBC) started with a bucket.
BBC began Christmas morning in 2014 when co-founder Erin Andersen gave her husband, co-founder Dave Andersen, a homebrew starter kit (a fermenter bucket, a carboy, and a brew kettle) and Charles Papazian’s book, The Complete Joy of Homebrewing. From the first batch he brewed – a cream ale – Dave showed talent as a brewer and quickly grew passionate about brewing. After making friends with many of the homebrewers-turned-professional-brewers coming out of the Lehigh Valley Homebrewers Club, Dave began dreaming of making his hobby his profession. His industry contacts encouraged him to do so, knowing what a talented brewer he is.
During several years of recreational planning, Dave and Erin began dreaming about “Buttzville Brewing Company,” putting labels on bottles of homebrew given to friends and family, creating a Facebook page for friends, and putting up chalkboard “draft lists” near their basement kegerator. To their surprise, members of the public began liking their social media page and showing interest in their brand. In 2019, Dave and Erin decided to make the brewery a reality. They chose Washington, NJ (Dave’s home town!) as their location, and opened their doors July 31, 2021. The rest is… well, not history yet; history in the making.
